New content patch before WotLK

Source: Eyeonix

With the release of Wrath of the Lich King approaching, we wanted to provide you with some important information. In preparation for the expansion, we will be issuing a new content patch in the coming weeks. Much like the patch made available shortly before The Burning Crusade’s release, this content patch is designed to bridge current game content with that of the expansion and will contain some exciting changes and additions.

We have outlined some of the larger features scheduled to release with the patch below:

New class spells and talents
Stormwind Harbor
Barbershops in capital cities
Zeppelin towers outside of Orgrimmar and Tirisfal Glades
Two brand-new Arenas featuring challenging new layouts, terrain hazards, and moving obstacles
Guild calendar
Hunter pet skill revamp
New profession: Inscription

As mentioned above, this is not a comprehensive list, just some of the major highlights. Weâ??ll post the full patch notes as soon as theyâ??re available. Regarding Inscription, please note that all Burning Crusade players will be able to select Inscription as one of their two professions and level up to a skill level of 375 with it. Upon the release of Wrath of the Lich King, players who purchase and install the expansion will be able to continue leveling in Inscription and the other professions beyond 375.

I’m pretty sure it’s bugged right now. I think the devs are aware.

For those of you who are leveling a shaman (or really, any class), this addon is probably one of those that you should go ahead and download. Why is that, you ask? Well, it’s basically a free leveling guide placed into the game as an addon. Yeah, I have some banners on this site for leveling guides - but honestly - I haven’t made a penny off the advertising, and only have it up there to help pay for the domain name itself. Anyhow, if you have the money to burn - buy one of the guides. If not, or if you would just rather not spend $40+ on a leveling guide, I suggest you read on!

Concerning totems survivability in PVP

Source: Koraa

In a future build your Stoneclaw Totem will “protect” your other totems, virtually increasing their HP by a value. We haven’t decided how much it will give your totems, but it should be enough to protect them from being one shotted.

Totems are intended to be as fragile as they are, it’s what balances out their power. If we gave Totems base increased survivability, we would have to give them increased cooldowns, mana costs etc.

Some WotLK patch notes listed on MMO Champion back on the 2nd

Source:

  • Flametongue Weapon: Now has a passive spell damage.
  • Natureâ??s Blessing no longer increases spell damage from Intellect, and the effect has been reduced to 5/10/15% from 10/20/30%. This is in result of the new spell power system. Players should notice little to no change in the power of the spell relevant to healing spells.
  • New Talent: Tidal Force- Increases the critical effect chance of your Healing Wave, Lesser Healing Wave and Chain Heal by 60%. Each critical heal reduces the chance by 20% and lasts 20 seconds.
  • Stoneclaw Totem: Health of the Stoneclaw totem is increased by 5% of the Shamanâ??s total health.
  • The range of all â??friendly totemsâ? has been increased to 30 yards, up from 20.
  • Totemic Mastery talent removed and replaced with â??Tidal Forceâ?.
